Course Overview

  • The course is framed to give the basics of BIW Fixtures - types, nomenclature, terminologies, different tool stations, their uses, and applications.
  • The course will introduce the students to the 3-2-1 principle, Body planes, the Body Coordinate System, and also the design of different fixture units in detail.
  • The students will get an in-depth knowledge of Automotive products, tools & fixture design, manufacturing processes, quality control, various assembly processes, 3D concept, 2D detailing, dimensioning, material selections, etc.
  • This course will teach how to prepare BOM, process charts, validation sheets, etc, using MS-Office tools.
